ASK: the memorizing degree of the vocabulary keeps initial status, never increases no matter I note, it's great labor to review all the vocabulary, however, when I used the okmeo3.0 , it was absolutely different, the memorizing degree feedback showed immediately. Why?

Answer: the defects of the okmemo3.1 released on 22nd July, 2006 make the memorizing degree increase slowly or even not increase,,but the okmemo3.1 released on 22nd August, 2006 has been updated,please download the latest okmemo3.1 and follow the steps to solve the question: Update procedures: Update procedures: Please download the okmemo3.1 for PalmOS again or okmemo dict/word 3.1 for PalmOS Don't delete the former program, just install the okmemogb.prc(for okmemo3.1) or okmemodwgb.prc(for okmemo dict/word 3.1) in the Palm There no influence to the original data and settings

ASK: I am a new register, I don't know how to use the okmemo to memorize, will you please instruct me to use in detail?

Answer: we memorize the vocabulary from the initial status, okmemo provides three ways to finish the initial memorizing. 1) choose vocabulary from the data (menu: vocabulary>choose vocabulary to memorize>finish initial memorizing in the ejected window and comment: good ok, no, never ) 2) okmemo collects the words you looked up in the dictionary for you to memorize, if it's a new word, the initial memorizing finishes automatically, if it's not a new word, the memorizing history will change automatically, this kind of memorizing is the "no" commented given in the 1); 3) choose words from the vocabulary list to memorize: after finishing the initial memorizing, if the auto remind does not close, just follow the suggestion given by okmemo to review; if you close the auto remind, or you want to review by yourself, there are three kinds of words for you to review, they are words for review, the words you just reviewed, the words you often forget; if you want to memorize CET4, just install cet4 vocabulary data, then choose to memorize.

ASK: How to use more vocabulary data and the vocabulary data of more authority?

ANSWER: easyword.pdb is the basic English-Chinese dictionary, you can still use other dictionaries of KDIC format, and the correct phonetic symbols are given: You can search a lot of KDIC dictionaries from Baidu or Google or Sohu and choose the proper dictionary to use; You can also download here in our website; Install the dictionary you choose to okmemo, and you can install 10 dictionaries at most; If you want a double function dictionary, you should install a Chinese-English dictionary and an English-Chinese dictionary.

ASK: how to put the dictionaries in the storage card?

ANSWER: okmemo supports several storage cards. Put the dictionaries in /PALM/PROGRAMS/MSFILES/ , the Chinese cannot be included in the file name, and 31 characters at most.

ASK: how to put the memorizing data in the storage card?

ANSWER: click "shift storage " item in the "dictionary" menu to shift storage position between memory and storage card. When the memorizing data is in the storage card, it operates a little slower than in the memory. In the storage, its extension name is .okm, located /PALM/PROGRAMS/OKMEMO/DBFILES/

ASK: how to use more dictionaries?

you can visit http://www.okmemo.com to get more info of dictionaries, including TEFFEL/ITES/CET4/CET6/Middle School Vocabulary and so on Okmemo can use dictionaries of supermemo,sugarmemo formats. You install the dictionaries in your palm, click "shift supermemo" item in the "comprehensive" menu to shift the dictionaries of supermemo,sugarmemo formats into the okmemo vocabulary, use the "choose vocabulary from okmemo to memorize" item to recite words

Use DA dictionary to click-translate, when other program operates, okmemo can look up words and collect words to okmemo for memorizing.

Okmemo supports DA, if DA is installed, okmemo can look up words and collect words to okmemo for memorizing. DA manager is another program, you can install it on your palm , but it's not part of the okmemo

Does the okmemo collect the words you look up in the dictionary automatically?

Okmemo provides several ways to collect words you look up for you to memorize, you can choose one of the settings: Close auto-collect and collect by hand: Release "collect" item in the menu, you can click "collect words" in the "dictionary" menu to collect words; Auto-collect words but words you look up in intervals not included: Push "collect" button and release "jmp" key on the okmemo keyboard which presents or hides by "keyboard" button; Auto-collect words and words you look up in intervals included: Push "collect" button and "jmp" key on the okmemo keyboard Tiny/DA Dictionary has the same settings, but you need to set in the dictionary.

Close auto-review and open time-review:

Auto-review and selecting words you need to review is the unique character of okmemo, however, the user hope to plan review by himself, so you can close "auto-review" item and open "time-review" item to plan your time to review, you can set 8 timing points at most a day.

How to set the screen color?

The defaulted color is black-white. You can use "color setting " item to decorate, menu/phonetic symbols/ buttons colors can be set differently, you can still use one of the 5 pre-set color solution. But it functions when you enter again.

I download okmemo, but it doesn't auto-remind after turn off.

Please the following items: 1. did you memorize words for the first time? If you didn't, it will not auto-remind. You can check "stat" to make clear. 2. did you exit okmemo? Auto-remind functions after you exit. 3. enter "auto-review" setting to check whether it's your sleeping period. 4. check whether you close the "auto-review"

can I have example sentences of the words I memorize?

If you use the okmemo2.0 or higher version, it supports this function. My okmemo has no Chinese-english function, how to realize the function?

You need to download chinses-english dictionary.if you install the chinses-english dictionary,okmemo will find and use at once without any seting.and the you can search chinese word. the dictionary in the package downloaded is basic dictionary (only english to chinese,about 25000 words). if you need other dictionary,you may search from search engine such as www.google.com,www.baidu.com,www.yahoo.com etc ,by the keyword "KDIC"(okmemo use KDIC type dictionary).

i'm not clear about the content i read from BBS :"if the word can not be found well and truly,the word will not be sent to memorizing data"

if you input chars to search , if it's not a word or not in the dictionary now,the okmemo will find the word in dictionary which is nearest to the search word and show the word. for example ,if you input "bcf",okmemo find no match word in dictionary ,the "bayou" is the nearest word in the dictionary,the okmemo will show the word "bayou",and okmemo will not sent the word "bayou" to memorizing data.

Can three or more searching results present?

Yes, it can present in the list dictionary.for example with word "my": 1. put "my" in the dict window; 2. keep the "compare" button to be pushed, use the "search"button to look up the word; 3.then the list show the the result in each dictionary. 4. use the pageup/pagedown key to look up the words in different dicts;

Can three or more dicts be used to each advantage and linked without gap?

Yes, okmemo can use 10 dicts at the same time at most. According to the searching order, look up the word in each dict and stop at the first matching dict. If you have looked up the word in each dict, but no one matches, then choose the most similar meaning but if in the dict defining the preference dict is locked, then only the first dict can be used.. furthermore, enter the list dict window, click the fourth button, operate the multi-word explorer model.

In the "word-choosing" window, I forget which words I have chosen sometimes, will this cause repetitive choosing and memorizing?

No, okmemo has memorizing history for each word you have merized.for this reason,even if you select a word that you memorized before,okmemo treat it as a old word and not a new word,and the review time seting is according its memorizing history..

According to what does the okmemo decide words to review ?

Okmemo estimates review time for each word by analyzing the memorizing status. Okmemo always put the words you need most in front of you

I used recite function to review words for times, and I chosen ok, but after a short time it reminds me to review?

it's not a good idea to review the recent word again and again in a short time,thus,if you do as this ,okmemo will treat as low_effitive review.Although okmemo provides recite function, you should review words following the plan given by okmemo. We suggest you use recite function once at most after finishing memorizing.

My palm went dead when using other program. After resetting I installed okmemo again. But all the words I have reviewed are gone. What should I do now?

After resetting you needn't install okmemo again. You can operate hotsync with pc.and you memorizing data will recover ti last hotsync status.

How often do I need to operate hotsync?

Random tests of over 10000 words have been taken, okmemo is solid, but referring to other accidents, operating hotsync is not a bad habit.

I find that when the palm hasn't warned me of short power, okmemo warms first and exits, is this situation normal?

Yes, as to security okmemo checks power frequently, and it shows feedback more quickly.
